May 14, Monday: HakoBA/ JH visit/ Flower arrangement/ Sukiyaki

May 14, Monday

HakoBA/ JH visit/ Flower arrangement/ Sukiyaki

Bye bye Fururu!

It's on the foot of the Mt. Hakodate.

It's used to be an elementary school, but it was turn into the Youth Centre after the school was closed down.  Many many years ago, I graduated from this elementary school!

It was so much fun to play in the gym!

Dormitory-style bedrooms!

Big bath tub was the best!
Some of the girls bonded very well after sharing bath time together!

HakoBa was in the very convenient and lively location with many tourist attractions.
This building used to be the Bank long time ago, but now was turned into a hotel.

The first bus ride to JH visit

About one hundred Grade 8 students welcomed us with beautiful chorus!

Introducing Calgary with PPT to the JH students

The centipedes race was so difficult!  Team U of C was not doing too good!

Such a good team-building exercise!

The 2nd activity was Big Rope Jumping!  Another good team-building exercise but so... difficult with so many people!

Breathe as one, count as one, and jump as one!     ---Yeah!---

School lunch!  Students are preparing the lunch.

Eating together is fun!

Cleaning up the lunch!

Class photo time!

Bye bye!  They were so excited to see U of C students.

Akagawa JHS visit’s article was on the Hokkaido Newspaper (May 17, 2018)

Ikebana experience
Looking at the demonstration very seriously....

Now it's our turn to try!

Use your own imagination and create something very special to you!

Masterpiece!

Every Ikebana has a different look and story behind!

 Well done!

We saw interesting music instruments!

Sukiyaki dinner was so good! All the pots became empty quickly!
